Bygone Days

Rain falling this afternoon,

Has left me in a melancholy swoon.

It brought with it the soft, misted, watered, colors of memories

Each puddle reflected the muted colors, thinned, by the rain.

Memories of days gone by,

Events and days not so clear in my mind.

Memories that sang the same refrain,

I need to return to those things, and days gone from me.

With each drop of the rain I smiled, with a thought,

There are still some things I could reclaim.

No; not those things just to watered, to touch.

Nor, just to muted to define, but those things that seem to just,

Stick in my mind.
