Lights Final Rest
Eyes glimmer
Specs of light radiate
Rays of rainbows emit
A prism of fortuitous youth
Daylight rests
And darkness takes its turn
Another day
Turns to history
Atlas's globe spins
He never does seem to tire
Learned contentedness
Throughout
Condemning years
Once colored views fade to illusions
Grandeur turns through paths too black
The aging eyelids of hope tire
Drop to meet the lashes
That lay directly below
Daylight rests
And darkness takes its turn
In sleep
Eyes rapidly move
Each upon its own axis
Stopping only to stare in fear at one another
As truth has blackened their hues
Silently they're forced to move in fear
Daylights final rest shall soon be realized
