Educated Blues
Damn, why did I have to pick up that book
Matter of fact, why did I have to actually read it
See before I was blind to the fact
But now I can actually see it
It being the truth, and it's true it does hurt
we as BLACK PEOPLE inflict pain
Leaving our future lying facedown in the dirt
we as BLACK PEOPLE should be ashamed
Because those BLACK PEOPLE of the past
Really died for nothing
Nothing being the right to vote, the right to get an education,
The right to be treated as a human being, I bet to them it was something
99 % of the BLACK PEOPLE I know dont' and won't vote, I know plenty of drop-outs, ex-cons, and drug users
Thugs, "real niggas", felons, hell I even know some dogs, but I don't know too many humans
And I ain't knocking none of my BLACK PEOPLE, because i could have being anything I wanted to be
But I fucked around and picked up a book by some man named Willie Lynch
The Making Of A Slave was the name and in it was some straight up bullshit
This man had devised a way to teach the AFRICAN PEOPLE to destroy them selves
And in turn it would lay the groundwork for the BLACK PEOPLE to destroy themselves
Keep the AFRICAN MAN away from his family long enough and he will always stay away
The AFRICAN WOMAN will then have to depend on the white man to make her way
At the same time the little AFRICAN CHILDREN are observing and adapting to all of this
So as they grow into AFRICAN AMERICAN PEOPLE they will repeat the same process
This man actually had this figured out back in 1712
And almost 400 years later we are still keeping ourselves under his spell
See this information has been on my mind for a minute, giving me the blues
I couldn't go through it by myself, so now that you know
What do you suggest we do?
