(worked with families in crisis, want their voices to be heard)
Ms. Lucy New Home
Does anyone know where she's gone?
I hope Ms. Lucy's not all alone
It started when she lost her job,
never knew life could be so hard
A single Mom, three children to raise,
the state came in, caseworker out of phase
They placed her children in Foster Care
It was more than she could bare,
She had no place to lay her head,
Shelter to shelter after a bed,
Hitched to church crying, "Help me please!"
Preacher said, "Sorry, lifes not a breeze."
Resting her tired body on a bench in the park
Her life was stolen that night in the dark,
No need to worry, she's not alone
Ms. Lucy has a permanant home.
There's many of her in the world today
I hope others will hear what they have to say.
