The ebb and flow of the waves on a black sand beach
Inward, then outward the water flows.
Then occasionally a sudden crash of an angry tide
against the rocks on a moon lit beach
Is this the way love goes?
You say leave, then you lace up the strings
You seek to be free but then you
Tighten the cords and say to me
“no other woman”
What I am to think of all of this
when you roam for what prey you may devour?
What words will comfort my heart as I
try to except you for who you are?
How can I see the picture of what is not painted?
My perception is tainted as to what is real
so we flow as the sound of the shoreline does.
First here and then there
Softly before loud as hot becomes cold again
When does all this grow old?
The distance brings a time to reflect
How did we get here?
And is this really our story?
The sun rises on the dawn of a new day
And the tide is out now as I wonder
If the we that used to be has finally been
washed out into The Sea Of Love.

Good-evening Dlong,

Got me with your comparison of the waves of thy sea to one's mate in reality... Indeed it's going to be up and down as who truly knows if that special one is truly thy soul mate... What I'm saying nothing is guaranteed and that comes with LOVE... Still it shall not stop me from searching for that queen, as everyone is deserving of being happy... On the real the picture you painted has been played on daily...

There is definitely an ebb and flow in relationships. There are changes in life.
When the sea is continually choppy, it could be that it is time to change course or get out of the water, because there is also an ebb and flow of people. They come in and out of our lives. Sometimes it's a natural ebb and flow and sometimes we have to know when to push them out

So what happens when the person we've visioned is what we see any more? The problem we all face is that we want our partners to be what we envision and what isn't there. Realizing that we fell inlove with perception is the hard part! But when you learn to love that person for what is there and not what you see.....love is now plainly beautiful and not blind.....

I HAVE NEVER THOUGHT OF LOVE IN THIS TYPE OF COMPARISON. THIS IS JUST BEAUTIFUL WORK BECAUSE ITS AMAZING THE WAY LOVE CAN OPEN YOUR EYES TO A NEW INTERPRETATION!
