I call to your remembrance
David the keeper of sheep
whose ways were with-held from men
and revealed to lamb and sheep
and to lions and bears
until he was by Goliath provoked
to keeper of Israel
David had no regard for the boasting of Goliath
I defy the armies of Israel this day
Nor was he by his appearance affrighted
and he had an helmet of brass upon his head
David was not charitable to the taunts of the Philistine
Choose ye a man for you and let him come down to me
Nor was he impressed by his stature
whose height was six cubits and a span
David cast aside the pedigree of Goliath
a champion, the Philistine of Gath
nor was he moved by the imaginations of his vanity
I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air
David prevented the outrage of Goliath from his eyes
and the staff of his spear was like a weaver's beam
and was not distressed by his lawless utterances
Give me a man that we may fight together
David did not admit to his ears the noise broadcast by Goliath
Why are ye come to set your battle in array
nor was he panicked by his bellicosity
I will give thy flesh to the beasts of the field
David was angered by the insolence of Goliath
Am I not a Philistine and ye servants of Saul
and was dismayed by the multitude of vain words
If he be able to fight with me, and kill me, then will we be your servants
Goliath appeared mightier than the noise of many waters
yet with an insignificant stone did David encourage his soul to flee his place of arrogance
David did not judge after the sight of his eyes
and he did not approve that which he heard with his ears
Therefore look abroad ye fainthearted
and show me where is the remnant of the reputation of Goliath
naught remains; it is the house of David which abides
Remember David the son of Jesse
in me he sleeps a shepherd
to awaken in you a King
Golaith roams to and fro in the earth
his manner loud; his boasting vacant
the day of his decline fast approaches
it is in the hand of he
who bears five smooth stones
