Why do our young men are gettin killied
or gettin sent to jail
Why do I hear gun shots and cries
echoing through the streets
Why do lil boys carry guns through
the streets that they call home
Just to feel safe and protected
Why do the young men worring bout
gettin some ass
Instead, of worring about their grades in class
Why do the young men sell poison
to the people in our community
they said to help build the community up
But, in reality they torning us down
Why are we standing on the sidelines
just watchinc our young men fellin down
in that endless pit of failure
Instead, of taking action toward our
young men to get them to climb
those stairs of success

I believe that Lyfe Jennings felt the same way when he said, "the ghetto has a way of manipulating the children tricking them into believing that life has no meaning"its always the BLACK people  and u would think that after all of those years of slavery we would have came together and dominated the thrown but instead look at what we are doin...keep writin i enjoy reading poems like this....

We as blacks don't care anymore... Indeed a lost generation of kings who have fallen victim to THUGHOOD, etc... I wish I could say more, but my eyes daily let me know things aren't getting any better... In summary, keep preaching to the masses...

Society paints an ugly picture of what "cool" is. When a young black male feels that no one understands him he will resort to almost anything to recieve some type of love. Even though that love is so false, how can they tell the difference ? We all must uplift our young people from the roots and show them that there are so many options out here. Some would say that we dont have equal opportunities, which may be true, but we have opportunities nonetheless. We need to take advantage of what we do have. Signing off!! Very thought provoking, write on!!

WHY? is always the most needed question to be asked but it never recieves a valid enough answer to spark change, ive asked everyone of these questions before  and have decided that if i could reach one then there's still hope thanks for sharing this Peace and Blessigns to ya!
