LaVena Johnson (In Memorial) Where Is The Justice?
Posted On 08/17/08 @ 03:15 PM

LaVena Johnson (In Memorial) Where Is The Justice?

Just when you think you’ve heard it all,

Another name is slammed into a brick wall,

LaVena Johnson an Army Private First Class,

Is she the first? Certainly this PFC isn’t the last.

Is it any wonder Osama Bin Laden can’t be found?

With a criminal loose in our camp running around,

Destroying evidence, burning bodies, again & again,

Calling themselves soldiers, claiming they are men.

What a shame when the real enemy is on the same side,

Behind the color of camaraderie these cowards hide,

Punched in the face, loose teeth, she was only 5 feet 1,

The Army claims its suicide, that’s all, over and done.

How many before shooting themselves bust their own lip,

Severe enough to the point it needs more than one stitch,

Surprisingly they didn’t say she tried to saw herself in half,

Which lie would be easier to swallow? You do the math.

So, how did that chemical burn get on her private parts?

Oh yeah, maybe a tattoo, some kind of new wave art,

Why would someone waste time getting rid of DNA?

Just maybe without detection they’re free to get away.

Being right handed, she shot herself in the left side of the head,

Moved her body from 1 place to another “after” she was dead,

From the size of the exit wound when the trigger was released,

There was no breath left because she was immediately deceased.

The U.S. Army actually tried lying, hooray for her dad,

He gave that crap the smell test and oh did it smell bad,

7/19/05 her dead body found in a contractor’s tent, HBR,

Broken nose, black eye, shot in the head and body scars.

Military personnel or civilians aren’t we on the same side?

Who is the American Government protecting, why that lie?

Had to be someone with pull to get her alone, you’d think,

I don’t have to be standing next to skunk to know it stinks.

Where’s Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, the infamous NAACP?

She could not have been more violated, do you not agree?

A 19-year-old honor student should be shown more respect,

But, this is how she’s being treated. Hey! What the heck?

Can’t call it racial because all women are treated the same,

Even academies and bases in the states there is this claim,

We are truly near the end of days soon God will work it out,

Vengeance will certainly be more than a punch in the mouth.

The Uniform Code Of Military Justice aka the U.C.M.J.,

But, where is this promise for LaVena, her assailant got away,

Judging by the condition of her remains, she put up a fight,

Now John and Linda Johnson are paving the road to right.

Funny thing though, seems they have a roadblock in Iraq,

It’s from the U.S. Army, who supposedly has their back,

The saying, “with friends like these who needs enemies?”

Guess the Army thinks first the perpetrator said, “please?”

Here's a little something to me that is simply down right scary,

The hole in her head was from a pistol, which she did not carry,

Oh yeah, if you think that's something how does this fact sound?

The fatal bullet that went through her head was never even found.

If there ever was this kind of incompetence in World War II,

Adolph Hitler or his off spring would be telling us what to do,

Oops, I don't mean us because there'd be no Blacks or Jews,

And only if the Furor liked Mexican food maybe a Hispanic or 2.

Whomever, wherever, whatever, an injustice did occur,

We can’t make it right for others without justice for her,

Hey, White House, the most powerful office in the world,

Do you have the gonads to speak out for this Johnson girl?

A petition was signed that is over twelve thousand strong,

The Army closed the case anyway saying nothing’s wrong,

Nothing like U.S. Intelligence, it’s the reason for the attack,

If they hadn’t been storing WMD’s we wouldn’t be in Iraq.

I saw something on the Internet much sadder than sad,

Her mom distraught, shedding tears, clutching her dad,

Soldiers carrying LaVena’s body almost made me mad,

Draped over her lifeless casket was an American flag.

Apparently the stars and stripes blows in two directions,

There is one for neglect, another for promised protection,

As it laid over her body on that particular sun filled day,

Was it 1 of protection or 1 allowing the perp to get away?

Beware this incident is not about colors, Black or White,

Remember it’s a statement in the arena of wrong vs. right,

I wonder if her recruiter bothered to make LaVena aware,

The same injustice suffered here is also allowed over there.

And here’s a timeless saying, which is entering my mind,

There’s even a movie with the title, “Behind Enemy Lines,”

Now that the light is shining on a lie that 3 years rang true,

Who will step in & accomplish what the enemy refused to do?

For every ranking Army official who signed off on this case,

Nothing less than a court martial is what each 1 should face,

Upon their conviction exactly where should they have to go?

What about life in a cell behind barb wire fences at Gitmo.

I Corinthians 13:11, When I Was A Child
Posted On 02/12/08 @ 09:28 PM
Walked into a sanctuary office the place had a layer of dust,
Do you think Jesus smiles at this or looks on with disgust?
A spot left unclean will soon become a permanent stain,
Doubt the word of God to long and unbelief will remain.

If you entered a restaurant or deli where filthy is the floor,
Would you place an order to stay & eat or head right out the door?
A tabernacle, temple, hall, place of worship, AKA a church,
How can any be called, “House Of God” when it’s filled with dirt?

Not everyone can sport the latest runway fashion or $1,000 suit,
Diamonds, rubies, most popular pumps, high top leather boots,
Yet when able, not to show up clean because of laziness or neglect,
It’s one thing to not care about yourself but at least show God respect.

The Lord is guiding you through a stage of spiritual development,
Why attempt an unproven shortcut trying to circumvent?
Even though it might temporarily help carry your load,
Will it stand the pressure of a long, dark & winding road?

Color coordinate an outfit, iron a blouse, straighten your tie,
Comb the hair; trim a mustache, not much make-up around the eyes,
It’s imperative to visitors that you set the table as a delectable sample,
You never get a 2nd chance to make a 1st impression, be a good example.

I use to eat lunch with a person who did nothing but complain,
“How is it your order is bigger than mine, we ordered the same thing,”
Being friends with the server, on dessert an extra scoop of ice cream,
“I have 2 he has 3, where’s mine, I want another,” he began to scream.

A spiritual child has nothing to do with being saved or your age,
It’s based on how you present yourself performing at center stage,
Don’t just drink coffee or juice in the morning, pour a glass of sure,
You can be in your fifties and still a child when behaving immature.

As Christians we are sometimes the only Jesus that others will see,
Remember the first person who was a light for you? I do for me,
1st Corinthians 6:19, a temple of the Holy Ghost, ye are not your own,
6:20, glorify God in body and spirit, not constantly moan & groan.

Paul is not referring to us as children based solely on our age,
Neither does it have to do with the amount of time you’ve been saved,
More than any thing else this passage deals with being immature,
Through all trials and tribulations by faith our spirit remains pure.

The anointing flows down from heaven it is not passed man to man,
Can you count stars in the solar system or number grain in the sand?
Is your passion for the word of God running hot or just plain mild?
If it’s the latter, exactly how long do you plan on remaining a child?

If your instruction and/or connection is not spiritually grown,
You’ll have to cut the cord, leave that dubious situation alone,
It defeats the purpose of faith, creating insight with bible maturity,
There’s no room for expansion when surrounded by uncertainty.

Twice in my life I found myself having to be saved from sin,
The second time deliverance was from unbelieving next of kin,
Christianity is not the latest craze that is or is not all the rage,
Those are the kind of children who will never come of age.

Proverbs 22:6, “train up a child in the way he should go,
Your offspring will not depart from it as older they grow,

So, when is the only time to be disobedient, unruly and wild?
1st Corinthians 13:11, scripture states, “when I was a child.”

Farewell To Payne Stewart
Posted On 02/01/08 @ 08:08 PM
Golf is a game of the heart,
With a love that’s meant to last,
This brings to mind Payne Stewart,
A class act for sure has passed.

Flying high in the wild blue yonder,
Above the masses below,
Payne and those who were with him,
Why did they have to go?

He was more than just the clothes,
This loving husband and father of two,
That’s the number of U.S. Opens won,
Why? What did he do?

A champion of the greens,
A master when buried in the sand,
On his way to the TPC,
The Lord had other plans.

Payne birdies 18 to finish at 60,
The site is so clear in my mind,
But with an 80-foot eagle for the win,
God shoots a 59.

Payne extends his hand with a smile,
Congratulating God for a record back 9,
All the while thinking to himself,
God I’ll get you next time.

A lifetime of fond memories,
Doing what he loved to do,
In our hearts he’ll be here forever,
Even though he’s gone at 42!

Tiger Woods & The Lynching Noose
Posted On 02/01/08 @ 06:48 PM

What an ugly uproar about the noose around Tiger’s neck,
Growing tighter every single day because he chooses to forget,
A story over 2000 years old about a man and the world He forgave,
Whether you believe it or not it’s only by His blood are we saved.

Am I trying to compare Tiger to Jesus? That would be absurd,
Why is everyone so upset by the saying of the lynching word?
Then again, maybe it is not the word rather it’s the entire phrase,
The only way to keep it going is by talking about it day after day.

Exactly what in the world makes this particular Tiger so great?
The racism he has encountered filling his heart and mind with hate?
That would be impossible growing up with Jack Nickalus on his wall,
Certainly not the way he so gently strokes a short putt on the golf ball.

No, this animal is ferocious because he knows exactly when to attack,
The perfect time to strike and the proper time to relax and hold back,
Worlds number 1, again and again the undisputed player of the year,
What makes this Tiger rise above everyone else is that he has no fear.

Eagles that fly high above don’t spend time on the ground with birds,
So, why should he come down to earth and defend himself over words?
Sure, it was an unfortunate mistake but since Eldrick wants to move on,
Who has the right to make less than five seconds last so very long?

If Woods was the kind of person to hold a grudge and harbor pain,
The golfing world or anyone for that matter would not know his name,
Many a promising career has been stifled looking for others to blame,
Here’s another thought, what if Jesus spoke and a thousand angles came?

Slavery is supposedly over but in most minds it can’t be that easy to mend,
For everything that has a beginning there is a middle followed by the end,
OK, Kelly Tilghman said it, she apologized, and this incident is over when?
The precise moment Tiger accepted her responsibility saying, “She’s a friend,”

Spousal & child abuse, drunk drivers, sexual slavery, genocide in Kenya is unjust,
The war Americans should not be in, drug addiction, gas prices, much to discuss,
Unscrupulous politicians and other leaders behind closed doors we cannot trust,
Some automobile makers selling cars then after three years on the road they rust.

It’s not the first incident between this Black vs. White and certainly not the last,
However, no person or race will experience forward progress living in the past,
Yes, it’s true that when you do not know history, greater the chance for a repeat,
But, when harboring malice in your heart revenge becomes bitter not sweet.

A family man now with a lot more on his mind like a wife and baby girl,
If the child had been born a boy there’s no doubt his name would be Earl,
There are many other concerns, how about the failure of public education?
Especially in inner city neighborhoods, what about that racial intimidation?

A tiger in the woods smells blood and begins searching for his prey,
A Tiger named Woods senses blood and knows victory is a bird away,
A tiger in the woods encircles his domain knowing that his meal isn’t far,
A Tiger named Woods knows the fight is over cause he’s 20 under par.

A tiger in the woods needs to catch and eat per day 40lbs. of raw meat,
A Tiger named Woods gets full consuming an eagle or two for his treat,
What do these two animals have in common besides the Tiger name?
How about both of them priestly sit atop of their individual food chain.

A tiger on the loose in San Francisco killed one with two on the way,
A Tiger at the Buick Open will maul an entire field in the game he plays,
I wonder what’s the difference between these two, an animal and the man?
Well, one likes to romp in the jungle while the other likes to play in sand.

Not just tigers but all animals beset with unique and incredible features,
Jealousy will always follow gifted talents of the rarest, purest creatures,
Oh yeah, “Here's what I would have done had I been caught in that spot,”
Did you ever stop to think that's exactly why Tiger is and you are not?

Apparently, not many people know the history of the famous Tiger Woods,
Question? Just how many golf courses did he practice on deep in the hood?
Wait just one minute because it’s time to mention one very important thing,
Did we or did we not just celebrate a holiday for Dr. Martin Luther King?

How do you think the greatest African American Hero might respond to this?
Eloquent words of wisdom or by returning hatred with the raising of his fist?
The bad news is that it’s 2008 and sadly racial indifferences will never change,
Good news is neither will the exceptional talent by which Tiger plays the game.
